FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AURORA, CO. – The Community College of Aurora (CCA) is excited to announce that Clair Collins has accepted the position of Vice President of Enrollment Management and Pathway Success. Ms. Collins will join CCA after competing in a nationwide search. Her tenure of service will begin October 1.
Community College of Aurora President Dr. Mordecai Ian Brownlee says, “Clair brings a history of success, knowledge, and experience within the enrollment management landscape. She has an impressive track record of developing systems that have positively impacted student persistence, retention, and matriculation. I am confident she will build upon the great work that we started just 12 short months ago.”
Within her portfolio, Clair will oversee the reimagination of CCA’s student onboarding experience, student advising, pathway engagement/re-engagement, all while working collaboratively with other members of the executive team to utilize technology and innovative measures to increase student accessibility and improve service.
Ms. Collins will join the Community College of Aurora most recently after serving as the Director of Academic Infrastructure and Professional Development at Sam Houston State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Conroe, Texas. Within this capacity, she led the development and maintenance of the organization’s curriculum mapping database, a repository used for maintaining the institution’s accreditation. Prior to this appointment she served as Assistant to the Dean, aiding in the conceptualization and formulating the college’s go-to-market strategy of its new medical school. Previous to relocating to Texas, Collins was employed by the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine where she served as the Associate Director of Admissions.
Clair began her post-secondary education at Lone Star College (Montgomery Campus). She is a proud two time alumnus of Sam Houston State University. She holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration along with a bachelor’s degree in English. She is completing her PhD in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Houston.
Ms. Collins added to the conversation, “I could not be more excited to join the Fox family. Aurora is positioned for tremendous growth over the next five to ten years and the Community College of Aurora is positioned for even greater expansion, as we make certain we are meeting critical workforce demands of an ever changing economic landscape.”
Dr. Angela Marquez, (CCA’s VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) who co-chaired the search committee said, “We vetted close to 50 applicants and Clair stood out as a candidate who continually kept student success as the main driver of the conversation.”
Clair’s appointment into the position comes just days after the Community College of Aurora broke ground on its new Center for STEM, Power Mechanics, and Applied Technology, a project which she says, “will ensure CCA remains a destination institution for prospective students.”
“There is still a great deal of work to be done, but I am confident in the skill set Ms. Collins will bring to the Community College of Aurora. The future of our institution has never been brighter nor stronger; I am overly optimistic of this, as we discover our next era of service and continue to dive deeper into what will be one of our most transformational years.” concluded Dr. Brownlee.
